Across Colorado’s high country, the aspens, willows, and cottonwood trees are turning color. Due to the drought (low winter snowfall, and hot summer temperatures) the aspens are stressed and will be turning color earlier than normal. Peak color has already occurred in a few areas. and peak color in many areas will likely happen between September 15-22.
